How to display selected friends on Facebook “Friends“ box

Strong privacy is one of the cool features of Facebook, the giant social media that made it so popular within short time.

Facebook always give importance to users privacy in their every re-design. That’s why many of us love it.

Customization is another great properties of it which let you to manage your privacy to the next level. In your profile page there are different widgets like Information, Friends, Notes, Links etc on the left bar. Facebook allow you to customize the widgets as you like.

In “Friends” box thumbnails of randomly selected friends are shown. Many of us don’t know that we can also customize this box and Facebook lets you decide who shows up in this box permanently instead of random thumbnails.

You may don want to show up some of your connection’s thumbnails in your profile’s “Friends” box. Okay, You can do it by specifying friends to be displayed in “Friends” box.

Again, sometimes & to some people your friends displayed in the “Friends” box represent your importance, personality as well as professionalism. For instance, while checking your profile if someone get that you are connected with John Chow, Darren Rowse, Mani Karthik, Aaron Wall, Asif Anwar & so on ,the well known SEO experts and Pro bloggers then he/she will quickly evaluate you as a SEO passion and Pro blogger. But if your “Friends” box shows up random friends he/she will not get any specific idea from the box and may not give you much importance.

So, thumbnails displayed in your Facebook profile’s “Friends” box plays an important role to enhance your profile’s professionalism.

How to display selected friends on “Friends” box:

This is not a trick but it is just an option provided by Facebook itself. Follow the steps below to select your friends to be displayed on your Facebook profile.
Step-1: Log in to your Facebook account. Navigate to your Profile page.

Step-2: Now scroll down the cursor and find the “Friends” Labeled box.

Step-3: Now you can see a picture of a pencil in the top right corner of the box. Click on the “Edit Pencil” icon. A pop up box will appear.

Step-4: In the pop up box there are three (3) setting point. The first one is how many friends do you want to display, the second one is a check box which let you hide the “Friends” box totally from other peoples. The third one is a text field where you need to write the friends name that you want to display in that box.

Step-5: Select the check box “Always show these friends“. Now start typing your friends name that you want to display in the text field. After typing some of the characters, a list will drop down . Select the friend that you are typing. Don’t copy & paste your friend’s name. That will not work.

Step-6: If you select 6 in the first setting point(how many friends do you want to display) then don’t think that you are only allowed to select only 6 friends name in the text field. You can choose as many as you like. But only 6 of them will be displayed randomly.
