Normally, when someone comment on any of your status or post on Facebook, a notification mail is sent to your inbox. By default this feature is on in your Notification settings area on Facebook. But you can turn it off. You can control which notifications Facebook will send to you.
However, to reply any of your status thread comment or post comment previously you need to login to your Facebook account. But now Facebook allow you to reply all the comments just by replying the notification mails. Facebook book added this feature on January 12, 2010. This is obviously a good news for Facebook lovers.
How to reply Facebook comments via email
Let me explain it through an example.
1. Here is one of my Facebook status update. One of my friend also commented on it.

2. After my friends comment I got this email notification.

3. I replied to that Facebook notification mail by typing the reply text in mail body.

4. Within few seconds that reply was added to the thread.

Interesting…huh? If you aren’t currently receiving email notifications for comments, be sure to check out your Account Settings. From the Notifications tab, you can choose to receive email notifications when people comment on posts and content, as well as for many other common Facebook activities.
