Yahoo! Mail users are passing through a new and improved new Y! mail experience over the last 9-10 months. Getting new look with extra features is now not a surprise for the Y! users. People always get ready to receive a new Yahoo! Mail in their next log in.
We all aware that Yahoo! Mail is going through a massive upgradation to enhance their users experience since back December. Switching from Yahoo! Mail classic to Yahoo! Mail standard is mentionable one.
Yahoo have been working on a new smarter inbox to help make the users life easier since the finishing of last year. From December 15th, 2008 Yahoo let some of their users to experience the smarter inbox.
Yahoo! Mail first introduceed third party applications like Flickr, Flixster & Xoopit allowing users to do much more and to be more efficient from within the smarter inbox. But the open applications in Yahoo! Mail was limited and only for their power user who were invited into the limited beta.
In the first week of June, 2009 Yahoo! Launched a handful of new & very cool apps. New application includes Paypal, Zumodrive, Picnik, Otherbox and photobucket. But this time also new Yahoo mail apps were available to only all US users.
On August 25th, 2009 John Kremer ,Vice president, Yahoo mail wrote the following sentences about the full launching of the new Yahoo! Mail with apps inside the inbox-
“Over the past nine months, we’ve made some significant updates to Yahoo! Mail, making it more productive, more social and helping people stay better connected to the those who matter most - but we only provided access to these new capabilities to a small group of you as we ramped up the features. Today, I’m excited to say we are bringing new and dynamic social functionality, third-party apps, enhanced photo sharing plus many more new features to all of your inboxes worldwide…yep, all 300 million of you! ”

From the last month all yahoo users can experience the free apps into their inbox which reduces the number of times one need to visit multiple destinations on the web to get things done. These apps allow users to be more creative and more productive.
In this year long journey of new Yahoo! Mail addition of a new apps named “Evite” on September 10th, 2009 probably the latest upgradation which allows users to create invitations, and add items to callender all from one place.
Drop.io :
This application allows you to attach up to 100MB of files to each e-mail. It’s easy to use, no registration, and it’s free!
Oib:
Organizes low priority messages — newsletters, coupons, promotions, receipts, etc into folders, which Prioritizes email from real people in your Inbox, and Summarizes it all in digest so you don’t missing anything important.
Picnic :
Picnik is photo editing awesomeness! Connect right to your Yahoo! Mail and Flickr for basic photo fixes, collages and amazing effects, plus touch up tools, tons of fonts, oodles of shapes and stickers.

Evite:
Get friends together by sending an Evite invitation right from Yahoo! Mail. With the Evite application, Yahoo! Mail users can send friends an invitation without having to leave their Yahoo! Inbox.
Flickr :
Share your photos with friends and family using Yahoo! Mail.Flickr is almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world. Show off your favorite photos and videos to the world.

Take all your files with you everywhere. Send large files right from Yahoo! Mail.It allows you to send and share large attachments (up to 100MB) with your friends and family. With Share It, you can share large files like videos, photos, and even entire folders, and the recipients can collaborate and edit the documents with you.

See, share, and organize your photos right inside your Yahoo! Mail.This app lets you organize and share all the photos in your Inbox from within one view, and they’ve added some features to let you upload new photos and shuffle amongst the treasures buried in your Unlimited Storage mailbox.
Paypal:

Photobucket:

Pingg:
Create and send free, stylish online invites directly within Yahoo! Mail. Manage RSVPs, Reminders and Follow-Ups without leaving your Inbox. Get Well Sent!
The funny thing is 2/3 days ago when I logged in to my Yahoo mail as per regular routine I found my inbox with a new look and a application box located on the lower left hand corner of my inbox.
Actually, I started to experience the new Yahoo! Mail with apps just 3 days ago. I found it good & flexible.
