Adobe® AIR® is a cross-operating system runtime that lets developers combine HTML, Ajax, Adobe Flash®, and Adobe Flex® technologies to deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) on the desktop. AIR allows developers to use familiar tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver® CS3, Flex Builder™ 3, Flash CS3 Professional, or any text editor to build their applications and easily deliver a single application installer that works across operating systems.

These days common trend of people is to control jobs from desktop.I found that Adobe Air application developers are making it easy day by day.They are integrating websites with the desktop as Adobe Air development platform facilitates this.While searching for Adobe air applications, 2 application got my notice which will help bloggers to control and monitor their blogs.

I found many bloggers running pro blog and expert in blogging business reviewed this 2 applications on their pro blog.

MODERATOR:

moderator-adobe air desktop application Now with the help of Moderator you can easily manage your Wordpress Comments from your Desktop.Moderator is a WordPress Plugin and associated desktop application, developed using Adobe AIR. Some of the features of this early release of the application include:

With Moderator you can view the unmoderated comments.
You will get Dock and system tray notifications of the number of unmoderated comments.
You can Spam, Delete and Approve comments from the Moderator Desktop client.
It will allow you to Close application window, or minimize it to the system tray while running.
Moderator will also show the Gravatar icons for the comments

Requirements
Moderator currently requires version 2.6+ of WordPress be installed. As it is developed on Adobe Air Platform , you will also need Adobe AIR be installed on your PC, which runs on Mac, Windows, and is currently in beta on Linux.

Installation

Download the current plugin bundle from here.(moderator_plugin.zip | 72KB)
Unzip the contents of the archive and place them in your Wordpress install directory under {wordpress install}/wp-content/plugins. You should now have a directory called ‘moderator’ in the plugins folder.
Login to your administration panel, and go to the Plugins page. Activate the Moderator plugin by clicking on the ‘Activate’ link in the entry for this plugin.
Now that the plugin is activated, go to the Settings tab and select the Moderator admin page. Follow the instructions on that page to install the desktop client.

**Please note, that if you have more than a few hundred comments awaiting moderation (this does not count spam,) you may see some performance issues when using this application. This should be fixed in the next version.
