Whenever I planned to write a new blog post I do a little keyword research. Now, you may ask keyword research is important for whole blog but why for each post? You know post title plays a great role in Search engine optimization (SEO). And Google also give a big importance on post title.
You have already noticed that in Google’s SERP search terms (keywords) are highlighted both in Title & URL. That means Google emphasize on Title & URL.
So, every pro blogger doing blogging business must be careful about this two factor, post Title & URL.
Keyword research is a great way to create a good post title. Let me make you understand through an example.
Suppose, you are writing a post on “How to write a good Title” but Google’s keyword research tool shows that peoples looking for that kind of content by searching “Techniques of writing good Title”. Now if your another friend, a blogger like you write the same type of post using title “Techniques of writing good Title” surely get more organic traffic than you, although you have the same post. This is because the title of the post.
The search engine optimization camp says keywords are the most important aspect of a blog post title.

Keywords Highlighted in Google SERP
Here are the steps that you need to follow to optimize your post titles :-
So, before starting to write a post go to any keyword research tool (I personally use Google Adword keyword Tool ) and do a keyword research for your topic to find out the relevant keywords that are searched the most. There are lots of keyword research tool out there, some are free & some are paid. Google Adword keyword Tool is a free and widely used service. t is a web-based tool and you just need to type in some relevant keywords into the box provided and click to get keyword ideas. Keep the “Synonyms” box checked. It will give you the search volume of the relevant keywords and their different combinations and synonyms.
Put the keywords within the first four or five words of the title to get maximum SEO value as search engines reads from left to right as we humans do. The more the keywords are to the right less is the importance that they get. Also remember that search engines generally takes about sixty characters of the post title into account and discards the rest.
Avoid using special characters like quotes and asterisks because search engines have difficulty in discarding these characters and understanding your post title. So this will hinder your rankings in SERPs.
Your post Title automatically converted into post URL if you are on Wordpress Platform. This ensures you get the maximum organic search engine ranking and targeted traffic to your site.
Recently I found a fantastic new tool called “SEO Blogger” launched by Wordtracker, the keyword research specialist that allow content writer to post together fully optimized post. On next post I will share my experience with SEO Blogger.
